Terms of service

Last updated 25 October 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses swim-events.com. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Who runs the site

ProSwimWorkouts
Nicolas Messer (owner, sole proprietorship)
Alpenstrasse 62
3073 Gümligen
Switzerland
info@proswimworkouts.com

In these terms, "we" and "us" mean ProSwimWorkouts.

What the site offers

Swim Events Countdown lists swimming competitions with countdowns to their start. Using the site is free, and you don't need an account to browse it.

Most events are added by us, from information the organisers publish, such as their websites and competition announcements. Organisers can also submit their own events, and claim events we added (see below).

We put care into the list, but we can't guarantee that every event is complete, correct or up to date. Dates, venues and events can change or be cancelled at short notice. Always check the organiser's website before you travel, enter or book anything. We don't organise the events and aren't responsible for them.

Event names link to websites run by others. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content.

Accounts

  • You need an account to submit an event. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Use an email address that is yours, keep access to it safe, and don't let others sign in to your account. You're responsible for what is submitted from your account.
  • You can delete your account at any time on the Account page.

Submitting events

Only organisers can submit events: the club, federation or company running the competition, or a person who officially acts for them, such as a meet director or a member of staff. We don't accept events submitted by participants, fans or other third parties. If you know of a competition that's missing, you're welcome to tell us at info@proswimworkouts.com, and we'll look into it.

When you submit an event, you confirm that:

  • you organise the event, or officially act for its organiser;
  • the event is a real swimming competition, in the pool or open water;
  • the details are correct to the best of your knowledge, and you'll tell us if they change;
  • your submission doesn't break the law or anyone's rights, and contains no advertising unrelated to the event, no offensive content and no harmful links.

You allow us, free of charge and without time limit, to publish the event details on swim-events.com and on other ProSwimWorkouts websites, and to shorten, correct or format them for that purpose. Your email address and notes to us are never published.

Review and verification

We check every submission before it appears on the site, and try as far as we reasonably can to verify that it comes from the organiser before we accept or reject it. For example, we compare the details with the organiser's own website or announcement, check whether your email address belongs to the organiser, and may contact the organiser through their published contact details. We may ask you for proof that you organise the event. If we can't verify it, we may reject the submission.

We decide which events to publish, and there is no right to a listing. We may reject, edit or remove a listing at any time, for example if it's incorrect, a duplicate, not a swimming competition, or breaks these terms. We usually say why, but we don't have to.

We may limit or block accounts that send spam, submit false events or otherwise misuse the site, and delete their submissions.

Submitting events is free. If we add paid features later, they will have their own terms, shown before you pay.

Claiming an event we added

If you organise an event that is already on the site, you can claim it instead of submitting it again. Once we've verified that you're the organiser, the event is linked to your account, so you can keep it up to date. We check claims in the same way as submissions. If several people claim the same event, we decide who represents the organiser, and we may remove a claim if it turns out to be wrong.

Using the site

Don't try to disrupt the site, get around its limits or security, or collect data from it automatically in large amounts. The site's design, text and code belong to us or our licensors, except for the event details organisers provide.

Availability and liability

We offer the site as it is. We try to keep it running but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or stop it at any time.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for damage caused by using the site or by relying on its information, such as wrong dates, cancelled events or travel costs. This doesn't limit our liability for damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or any liability that can't be excluded by law.

Privacy

How we handle personal data is explained in the privacy policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects account holders significantly, we ask them to accept the new terms the next time they sign in.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts at our place of business in Gümligen, Switzerland, are responsible for disputes, unless the law gives you the right to go to court where you live.
